Iconic Warsaw: Landmarks You Can’t Miss

These spots are famous for a reason. Fortunately, they are also easy to navigate with a stroller.

Old Town (Stare Miasto)

Warsaw’s Old Town, Stare Miasto, is a natural playground for kids to run around! The Market Square is car-free, so it’s perfect for kids to burn off their morning energy.

Try to arrive early to avoid tour groups, say before 9 am. This will allow your toddler more freedom to roam, and make it easier for you to push a stroller. You’ll also get to enjoy the beautifully colorful houses in relative peace.

Make sure you check out the mermaid statue in the square, and retell the story of how she became the city’s protector and champion.

Finally, don’t miss the Barbican! It really makes you feel like you’re stepping into the middle ages. Rebuilt after WWII, this 16th century fortress separates the Old and New Towns and is a must-see! It’s located just 2 blocks NW of the Market Square.

Copernicus Science Centre

Make it a priority to spend some time at the Copernicus Science Centre. This is Poland’s largest science museum, and is full of hands-on exhibits. Kids think they’re playing, while actually learning about nature, physics and technology.

Is the Copernicus Science Centre good for a toddler? Yes! The Buzzz! exhibition is specifically targeted at kids 5 and under!

You can bring your stroller through the center and leave it near this exhibition.

If you so desire, you can catch a kid-friendly show at the Planetarium as well.

Book your tickets online well in advance to skip the long wait lines.

Palace of Culture and Science (Observation Deck)

This is the most famous landmark in the city – you can’t miss it! Just arrive right when it opens, before the crowds fill it up.

The highlight for toddlers is the elevator that (quickly) takes you up to the 30th floor within seconds.

However, the 360-degree view of the city will likely be the highlight for parents. The viewing gallery is completely safe for toddlers, so you don’t have to worry!

From up here, you can show your toddler different sights from up above. Even young toddlers will comprehend the river or the trees from above.

Bring your camera for a great family photo op with the skyline!

Book your tickets in advance to avoid long wait lines.

Vistula River Cruise

Take a short, relaxing cruise on a traditional wooden boat. The gentle motion and scenic views of the city offer a calming, different perspective for your baby. This is often booked through a travel site.

For a different view of the city, try a Traditional Galar Cruise on The Vistula River.

These traditional wooden boats offer a slow, gentle ride on the river. It’s a great way to see the city skyline while you’re all relaxing.

Vistula River cruises are usually an hour or less, so most toddlers won’t get too bored. Bring snacks just in case!

Parks & Animal Encounters

Is Warsaw good for a family trip? Absolutely.

Warsaw is one of Europe’s greenest capitals, offering tons of city farms and green spaces for running!

Parks

Royal Łazienki Park

Burn off energy in the beautiful Łazienki Park, aka the “Royal Baths.” The grounds are free to explore, but you will pay an entrance fee for any buildings you wish to visit on the property.

The park also offers an ecological playground nestled among the greenery. You’ll find various swings, climbing structures and slides for kids of all ages!

As you’re walking the stroller-friendly paths, look for the famous red squirrels and peacocks that roam the palace grounds!

If it’s Sunday, you can catch a free Chopin concert, too!

Wilanów Palace Gardens (Park)

If you’re looking for somewhere quiet for a stroller nap, Wilanów Palace Gardens are a top choice. The massive grounds offer plenty of space to get away from the crowds, even in the heat of July.

You will need tickets to enter the park, which can only be purchased on the Wilanów Palace official website. At the affordable rate offered, it’s well worth it if you want some calm!

If you’re visiting during winter, the gardens transform into the “Royal Garden of Light.” It’s a beautiful display that might just be worth staying awake for!

Animal Encounters

Bródno Farm

Just across the river, you’ll find the Folwark Bródno. Here, your kids can meet donkeys, goats and rabbits!

They also have a sensory path designed specifically for little kids with different textures to explore.

With a very low entry fee, this is the perfect “city escape” while still staying right in the city!

Uncle Tom’s Farm (Farma Wuja Toma / Dyniolandia)

From April to November, you can visit Farma Wuja Toma just on the outskirts of Warsaw. Don’t worry – it’s still accessible by public transportation!

They have mazes, slides, jump areas, lots of pumpkins in the fall, and tons of farm animals to feed.

If you’re looking for an interactive, all-afternoon activity, this is sure to wear out your toddler in Warsaw!

Warsaw Zoo

Just across the river from the Old Town, you’ll find the impressive Warsaw Zoo. With over 500 animal species, your family is sure to spend hours here!

With lots of space and paved paths, you will easily be able to navigate with your stroller, as well.

The Fairytale Zoo section offers a petting zoo, and you can buy feed for the animals, too!

The onsite playground is a great place to burn off some energy when toddlers grow tired of watching animals laze about.

The highly detailed model railway inside shows all the famous Warsaw landmarks on a 1:25 scale.

What is the best playground in Warsaw for kids? There are so many to choose from! But here are some of the best indoor playgrounds for toddlers in Warsaw:

Smart Kids Planet

Located in the trendy Fabryka Norblina, there are also tons of great cafes and restaurants nearby!

Klockownia

This center is considered excellent for toddlers and preschoolers. Its focus is primarily on block play, which encourages creativity and motor skills.

Klockownia is a much calmer environment than other playrooms on this list, making it a great stop to avoid overstimulation.

Fikołki

Fikołki is a popular network of playrooms across Warsaw malls. All locations feature multi-level play structures, ball pits and slides.

Plus, they have separate toddler zones to keep your little traveler safe.

This is a reliable playroom for burning off energy when you’re near a mall!

Fun Park Digiloo

This is one of the largest indoor playgrounds in Warsaw for toddlers. This is a two-story, super colorful indoor playground.

Fun Park Digiloo has a trampoline area, foam pits, tons of slides, and even a climbing wall!

There’s also a dedicated area for toddler so they don’t get run over by the big kids.

Just note, this playroom gets very busy (ahem, loud) on the weekends.
