Best vacations with babies and toddlers

We want our kids to have a good time on vacation. As parents, we also want to have a good time on said vacation. Here are my top vacations with babies and toddlers that I recommend to my clients.

My first vacation recommendation with a baby or toddler is to stay at an all-inclusive resort. Many offer group care for children based on their age, with certified staff taking care of your toddler. This gives you peace of mind so you can spend time on the beach or hitting the slopes, depending if your locale is tropical or if you opted for a ski resort vacation.

Beaches

I love Beaches Resorts for families. The family-friendly sister resort brand of Sandals, Beaches resorts are luxury all inclusive resorts that really focus on ensuring your children have a great time on vacation.

Beaches offers group care for kids by age. Babies and toddlers are taken care of by certified nannies, so parents can relax, knowing their children are safe while they participate in various activities or get pampered in the spa.

Located throughout the Caribbean, Beaches prides themselves in their commitment to sustainability. Most of the food used to create your delectable meals is locally sourced!

Club Med

My favorite resort for families of all ages is Club Med. This premium resort company specializes in family getaways. Kids clubs are separated by age, and many destinations offer Baby Club Med, for babies as young at 4 months old.

Club Med offers a hundred (give or take) activities for kids and parents to participate in during their stay. These resorts are best suited for active families who like to participate in exciting sports, like skiing, wind surfing and trapeze lessons. Don’t worry – Club Med offers plenty of relaxation as well.

Disney’s Aulani Resort

Don’t want to worry about passports? Head to Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawai’i for another family friendly all inclusive resort that’s perfect for kids.

Visit the Disney Aulani website to learn more, or contact me for current rates!

Cruises

Cruises are the perfect vacation for babies and toddlers because they get to sleep in the same bed every night, and can still experience different cultures when traveling.

Disney Cruise Line

The best cruise line for families is Disney Cruise Line. Disney’s family friendly cruises keep kids entertained and still offer plenty of adult activities for Mom and Dad. Disney Cruise Line offers group care for children as young as 6 months and can accommodate up to 3 children in a stateroom.

Disney cruises are perfect for multigenerational family vacations, too. Grandma and Grandpa will have plenty to do in the adults-only areas of the ship!

River Cruises

There are also several luxury river cruise lines that allow children to board, but may not have a ton of toddler or baby amenities. If you think you can keep your little one entertained on cruise days, knowing they’ll have plenty of things to explore when the ship docks in port, then contact me and we’ll find the right cruise for your family!

Cultural Tours

Cultural tours with babies and toddlers are possible when booking a custom itinerary with Hooked on Hiatus. We’ll make sure your accommodations are family-friendly, you’ve got safe transportation and you have plenty of down-time for naps along the way.

As with any of the other options, contact me to get started planning your perfect family vacation!

Travel Insurance

I highly recommend family travel insurance for every vacation. This gives you peace of mind should anything go wrong before or during your trip. Getting a blanket policy to cover every aspect of your trip means you only have to contact a single company, rather than one for each trip component (flights, hotels, tours, etc.).

I use Arch RoamRight for my family insurance when traveling. Get your personalized quote here!

  1. We love an all inclusive resort- it’s just so easy for families with young children. We have an all inclusive resort near us called Sandpiper Resort and were excited to try it when it’s done being renovated. But my next big trip will be a Disney Cruise So I’ll save this post for when we’re ready!

    1. Wow – you’re so lucky to live near such a nice all-inclusive resort! Disney cruises are so good for the whole family. I’d love to hear about your experience! 🙂
